October 23, 2019

Another week in Italy! Not a whole lot happened this week. We did 2 exchanges because my companion is district dictator. I learned that the people from Sicily actually loved (still do) Mussolini! Supposedly, while he reigned, he helped terminate the mafia families in Sicily, but they're back so he really didnt do anything🤷‍♂️

Our first exchange, I was with the other Anziano Brady in Lecco. The people we stopped either asked if we're gay and married or brothers. It was interesting to say the least. During that exchange, I tried talking to 2 men who seemed middle eastern. Their names were probably Muhammad or Ali. I broke the ice with "hey, we're Americans and new to this city. So what is the best gelateria around." In italian though, obviously. They didnt speak any Italian or English, but they were so willing to help us, so they started taking us to the train station haha. Google translate helped a lot. So, they walked us back into the city center to their favorite gelateria which took about 20 minutes and nothing came of it haha. We ended the exchange and went to Zone conference the next day.

Our second exchange, we went to Muggiò with the zone leaders. I went with Anziano Brase. The similarity between him and I were freaky. We have the same personality, the same sense of humor, the same interests, we're both good drivers. I basically did an exchange with myself. Anyway, the whole day and night and next morning, it was pouring rain. In italy, no one strolls the streets when it's raining. But! There's no rest for the weary! Gear up and go out! Pneumonia give me some!! No one wanted to stop to talk in the cold rain haha. We taught a man the Plan of Salvation. While we taught him, he didnt make eye contact and he just spacing out into lala land, it was kinda like talking to boo haha. We asked him if he had any questions at the end and he had 3, very specific and to the point questions. So he actually did pay attention! It was pretty cool, so overall that lesson went really well.

English class... I'm thankful that Bri comes to help me. She's absolutely amazing. La mia cuore e chiuso, quindi, fret not.

For pday today, we dont get to do anything fun😁 greenies are puppies and jr comps are dogs.

No pictures, because there hasn't been anything to take pictures of.

I hope everyone has a fantastic week!

Sempre avanti,
Anziano Brady
